After school Nannies
For after school positions, the level of education you possess is far more valuable than extensive experience, although experience will help set you apart from other candidates. We look for well educated people for after school roles; you could be a mum/dad (or grandparent), who has had a high standard of education (to degree level) and looking for something to do now your children have grown, or you could be a University student who again has a high level of education and is looking to combine studying for a degree (ideally in the education or childcare field) with caring for children after school and during school holidays. All after school nannies will be expected to be able to cook to a very good or high standard, supervise homework and, in some cases will find it necessary to work with children preparing them for school entrance exams. It is therefore essential that anyone applying for this type of position has an impeccable fluency in the English language. In addition all after school nannies will need to have a full, clean driving licence.

Maternity Nurses/Maternity Nannies
If qualified, minimum of 2 years full time baby and childcare experience with one of the following qualifications; Midwifery, MNT, RGN, NNEB, BTEC or similar (or a NARIC certified equivalent qualification from another country).
If unqualified, minimum of 5 years full time Newborn and baby experience
As with the requirement for Nannies, all maternity Nurses/Maternity Nannies ideally should also hold a minimum of 3 A levels (or equivalent) at A – C level. Failing this, then you must hold a minimum of 6 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at A – C level, which must include English and Maths

In addition to role specific requirements, all candidates must also have an up to date Enhanced DBS Check. If you do not possess a DBS we will be happy to help you obtain one at your cost. You must also have an up to date Paediatric First-Aid qualification (or proof of course attendance if still awaiting documentation). We will accept candidates without first aid, who are willing to undertake the training prior to taking up a post through us. Cost of training will have to be met by you.

In addition, all candidates must have excellent spoken English, unless the role is specifically for foreign speaking clients. If candidates are from abroad, then they need to ensure that they have a Valid Work Visa prior to application. All candidates must be non-smokers.

We regularly receive a large number of applications from potential candidates and in order to stand a strong chance of being offered a registration interview with us, then please spend some time perfecting your CV and presentation of yourself to us. In particular, we would advise candidates to review their CV carefully and ensure that they aim for a CV which shows the following;

• Recent, related experience

• A good work history that does not show any gaps – make sure that any gaps in your work history are fully explained

• Make sure all start and finish dates are accurate and any overlaps in dates are fully explained

• A full breakdown of your Education, showing grades achieved

• Short, concise information is important

• Presentation – a well presented CV will always get more attention from any potential employer. This means that you should pay special attention to detail such as spelling and grammar

• Honesty – be honest in your CV and ensure that you can back up any claims of particular experience with evidence of this as appropriate

• Chronological – you should always start with your most recent job and work backwards. CVs should only be 2 pages long and don’t clutter these with long details of jobs especially older ones particularly if they bear no relevance to your current application

• We would prefer a full list of contactable referees that cover your entire career. Where this is unrealistic (for instance in the case of a very long career), then we would expect to have a minimum of 3 referees which should span a good length of your career

As long as you meet the above criteria you can then take the next step and complete the registration form online by clicking the registration button and one of our consultants will then contact you to arrange an interview.
